million dollar baby

For almost past 3 months i have been waiting to see Million Dollar Baby. I had ordered Mintu ( my local dvdwala ) to get it for me . He has actually brought it for me 3 times and almost every time - the dvd didn’t work. It just didn’t work on my computer . He always claims that it works everywhere else - last 2 times i could not run it on the other computers either . So this time , when he got it for me again …. we were almost joking while i was going to test it first - that how i am never going to be able to see Million Dollar Baby . So i did put it in the dvd player …. and WTF , it didn’t work again … i was playing other DVD’s fine … onyl this damned dvd could not be played .
I had almost forgotten about it by the next day when he got some other stuff for me - but he reminded me that i still had it with me . So i decided to try it in for the last time in my other computer which had a dvd writer . I actually tried to open it via DivX player and to my surprised it worked fine . !!

As for the movie itself - i was very eager to see it knowing it had won so many oscars . Quoting from something i had read :

“Million Dollar Baby” has great characters, but it doesn’t glorify them. It has a wonderful story, but it never tries to impress you.

. The story also doesnt have a single direction ,it keeps on changing. Clint Eastwood , Hillary Swank and Morgan freeman play the roles very closely … especially , Hillary Swank fits into her role of a trailer trash - underdog , woman in her thirties , with a dream to become a professional boxer .
