web designer jobs in kolkata or anywhere in india is going through a boom phase undoubtedly . Several web designing companies are doing good business and theres also a active market for web development , clients no longer needs to be explained why they want websites , they do not even need to be coaxed to go for SEO / Search Engine Optimisation. They themselves nowadays request proposal for it and if you pitch properly and show a active portfolio of previous work, you might even get the deal without the client haggling too much on the price .
Taken there would always be cheapskates , like a guy who probably ( not sure) will make a 5 page website and for that called me over 3 times to his office , but then there are also clients who even on seeing a previous website query if the sites are even W3C standards compliant , wether we ensure of the site is accessible . No doubt , the new Site point book which arrived 2 days back , will help in this regard along with some more active browsing of various sites around the web .
Till now , among the new probable employees we have been interviewing , some have been pretty raw , - yes they know Dreamweaver , they probably even know Photoshop or Flash , but i seriously doubt how many of them even are aware of the existence of W3C.org , valid HTML . 2 guys till now have actually mentioned about it during their interviews and have shown some works .
An example of how much web work or IT work being there is was evident from a mistake that almost happened. I had contacted a jobsite about their rates , and the availability of resumes . They promptly replied and started calling back and pretty soon , i was almost being handed over the pen to sign on the dotted line so to say for getting into a monthly contract . Luckily , i found out that the site was probably not even a year old , and hardly known to those who regularly use jobsites for hiring or recruitment . Surprisingly , the jobsite had claimed that they had over 1 milion resumes . Wow , that is a big number
