google reader is now better
October 27th, 2006
What is Google Reader : It is a one stop rss reader , subscription manager and of course it is free .
. I had earlier seen / glanced at it on Matt Cutt’s blog. Now normally i do give large value to his comments , as would any webmaster . But he being a sort of ” Official Google Guy ”
, i thought it was somewhat of a pushing for another of Google’s products . After that i read about it also on Danny Sullivan’s blog and then decided to give it a test . Needless to say , i was quite impressed by it . On the Google Reader homepage , you will see it says : Your inbox for the Web , Stay up to date and share with your friends . For the past few days i have been trying it out , nice thing about it is i can search for direct feeds links of the blogs i wanna subscribe to and it finds it and adds it in my list . And the sorting option is nice too . One thing to remember is , if you scroll while using it , unless you set it up in the preferences , it will mark the blogs you scroll by as Read .
However , something i noticed , which i have not seen others mention is that sometimes on a Firefox browser , the screen turns akward , in displaying the posts . Later on i will try to add a screencap and upload / attach it in this post .
