want to buy digital camera

For the past 2 weeks , i have been seriously wanting to buy a digital camera . Primarily it is for helping in getting photos for web design . But apart from that , I have noticed I hardly have good photos and there are so many sites i join nowadays where people want to see the real you - and often they even give benefits for adding the photo . Apart from this , my old webcam which was gifted by a client of mine , has stopped working after 2-3 years of good service.

Now the thing is I am not a good photographer - heck , i have not handled a camera for much even , I am not looking to buy one of the expensive digicams , but rather something which will be easy to operate . Price is not that much of a factor, but i would be happy to stay within the mid-range . I have been told to buy within Canon , Sony or Kodak. Soumya, also mentioned that I should not look to buy the Digital Camera from places like Ebay or Bazee etc as the price there would be higher than buying from a kodak Showroom locally, but i am unsure . A few days ago , I saw a nice website where quite a few good deals were posted.
